The point is, dragons can be bad, good, wise whatever cause we make them like that...

Urmandu-mi tendintele de a cautat poze fantasy pe net am dat peste un text foarte interesant
"I was at the zoo the other day--bear with me a moment, here--and I was drawing the Komodo dragons. One of them was chewing sedately on a dead rat, and it struck me that THIS was why dragons aren't 'real' creatures. A flesh-and-bone dragon in this world is at best an overgrown monitor lizard, with or without batwings. That got me thinking--what's our obsession with dragons? Why do they resonate so strongly? Well, I thought about it for a while, and came up with this from the dregs of anthropology and art steeping in my brain: Dragons, like wolves and demons in other times and cultures, are the face western culture put on wildness--on the vast, unstoppable, inhuman forces that no one wants to ascribe to gods. Dragons always live in the waste, and only saints and heros can stand against them. 'Here there be dragons' could be written 'This we do not control.' Dragons weren't flying lizards, they were mountains, windstorms, mindless violence that required impossible sacrifice to placate or destroy. All renderings of dragons are right, some are just better at portraying that essential wildness..." by Ursula Vernon
Avea si o poza si dar textul mi s-a parut cel mai important
Apropo se pare ca am dat peste un alt text al domnisoare de mai sus care ar putea sa ne mai lumineze sau sa ne deschida noi orizonturi:
'Dragons, as we all know, are a highly sexually dimorphic species. Males become large lizardlike creatures, dedicated to acquiring hoards with which to attract potential mates. Female dragons, on the other hand, resemble pearly-skinned humans for much of their lifespan, the better to study the arts of gem appraisal, jewelsmithing, and flea-market antiquing, so that they can assess the value of a male's hoard down to the last penny and shop between potential mates. (Many of the original legends of draconic interest in virgins may actually be tales of female dragons in the juvenile stage scouting out a male's hoard.) Upon deciding on a male, the female undergoes a chysalis stage, whereupon, like butterflies, they emerge winged and extremely hungry. Male dragons who plan ahead will stock several sides of beef to forestall this, or else may find themselves backed into a corner of the hoard trying to fend off a ravenous female and uttering such useless lines as "Honey, can't we talk about this?"'
Are sens nu?

1.Behold the Living Dragon, the Komodo Dragon. Living on a tiny island called Komodo, the ancestors of these giant lizards were walking the earth in prehistoric times as long as 40 - 60 million years ago. While they can not fly or breathe fire, Komodo Dragons can grow up to ten feet long and weigh as much as four hundred pounds. Armed with razor sharp teeth, the real-life dragon is capable of swalowing up to 80% of its own body weight in one meal. (IMG: http://img234.imageshack.us/img234/489/komododragon10in.gif) 2. A blue dragon in the vision of Patricia Briggs in "Dragon bones". "...He was easily twice as large as the stone dragon (basilisk),and much more fantastical. His narrow muzzle was deep midnight blue as were his feet and sharp talons.Above the muzzle and its businesslike teeth , the scales lighted to violet, a lighter shade than his Hurog blue eyes, altered only in shape, wich glittered against the darkness of his face. His wings , half folded, were edged in gold and black; the scaled skin connecting the fragile wing bones was lavender." (IMG: http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/9619/01715mb.jpg) 3.A stone dragon in the vision of Patrcia Briggs in "Dragon bones" " It was tall as Pansy* in the shoulders, but most of it's bulk was in lenght.Disregarding the size and a few other details, the basilisk looked a lot like the lizards that that played in the kings gardens at Estian.Green scales the size of my palm covered it from tip to tail.Emerald eyes blinked unconcernedly at us from the front of its head like predators everywhere , but lizardlike, the eyes didn't appear to track in concert... ...Black horn spikes studded the tip of its tail and continued up the ridge of its back untill they dissapeared in the improbable ruff of scarlet feathers encircling its neck. A tongue as large as my arm flicked out of its mouth momentarily." *Pansy is a horse (IMG: http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/8223/basili13vi.gif) Ma scuzati pentru faptul ca descrierile sunt in engleza dar am observat ca in ultima vreme imi e mai usor sa gandesc in aceasta limba. Astept parerile voastre si ideeile in special. [edit by Kisa] Exista deja un topic dedicat dragonilor. Topics merged.
