ten reasons why this show pissed me off.

1. The main characters are indecisive to the point of painfull. There are several times when they just stand there while their friends are being beaten to a pulp and agonize whether or not they should help.
2. Everybody has guns and some special equipment, yet they still agonize over whether or not to kill the alien freaks that just splattered one of their friends.
3. The main character is an asshole. In the show, there is a girl, she's basically homeless due to a plot device; first it takes him for fucking EVER to figure out that a girl that's been sleeping in front of his door waiting for him to get home wasn't there because she wanted a glass of water.
3.5 Once he does find out, all he can do is think about getting laid. (while she's all crying over her plight by the way)
3.7 He never actually gets laid, he just leers at her boobs a lot.
4. In the middle of a fight to the death (while agonizing over whether or not to shoot) characters will have these long ass periods of 'frozen with fear' while everyone around them is getting kacked.
5. The secondary characters are either assholes, or total pussies. (example: when a girl gets dragged out of the room to be very obviously raped since you can hear her protesting through the door NO one goes to help until we've had a good solid round of self doubt.)
6 there are several episodes where I was just yelling, "goddam, fucking shoot, fuuuck, you guys are such pussies" at the screen.
7. Apparently being surrounded by aliens, having most of your group including an old grandmother and her grandchild get kacked STILL isn't enough to convince you that firearms, NOT hand to hand combat is the way to go.)
8 There is a news story going on about the dissapearance of the main characters that continues throughout the entire show. The newscaster takes lots of time to show a mashed umbrella, and a nudie magazine that was left behind. This is despite the fact that it's the main characters who are supposedly dead (this isn't a spoiler), but have actually returned to school.
9. The school, is filled with bullies that prey on the weak and extract teeth when they don't bring enough lunch money. No one seems to actually care about this, and the main chracter doesn't help anyone (of course!) until he is the one targeted. Naturally he still agonizes about fighing back while he's getting smacked around. Only the thoughts of his friends very large boobies are enough to make him fight back.
10 in the first season, there are only a couple of actual action peices. Most of which you see in the opening credits.
11. Actually, if you've seen the opening credits, that is the whole season without the whining, agonizing and bitching.
12. The 'hero' of the group is willing to help out obvious assholes, even just after they got done doing rock paper scisors on who gets to rape his girlfriend first. (they don't, she never actually gets raped.)
12.5 How goddam many times do we have to see people decide to rape this girl?
13 Ok, get with me here... you get zapped to a remote location, armed and equiped. Do you stand around yakking, or grab some hardware?
14 the "boss" (and he is reffered to as such) alien looks like an escapee from a fried chicken advertisement.
14.5 On second thought, maybe the 'boss' is able to get employment as a mascot for some sports team.
15 The main character is seemingly able to read peoples minds in the very beginning of the first episode, yet this never surfaces again. Presumably this is why when he want's to have sex with the girl who has no place to go, and is crying he doesn't 'get' that maybe it's not an ideal time.
15.5 If he was THAT mercenary, he would have just said 'put out or get out'. After all he goes to a school where bullies pull the teeth right out of junior right outside classes.
16 did I mention that in the middle of a combat situation, people are still yakking about helping each other out, making threats, and so forth?
17 The stuff that comes out of the armament 'device' could never actually fit inside of it. Explain that shit, someone?

Ma intrebam, daca e chiar asa de rau acest serial, ideea ar fi interesanta, adik poate duce la multa actiune, dar felul in care e realizat lasa de dorit...

Uite ca am stat si am citit 4 pagini. Da si postzilla-urile lui Tezeu si al lui Scorpio (chiar daca post-urile lui devin obositoare din cauza folosirii prea dese a punctelor de suspensie). Si se pare ca eu nu sunt singurul de parerea asta:

Eu am vazut doar primele 11 episoade si sunt total de acord cu tipul citat de Cilu. M-a enervat la culme seria, nu stiu cum am rezistat sa ma uit la ea...imi venea sa iau mousul si sa arunc eu in extraterestrul ala.
Se poate face o comparatie cu cretinul ala de Shinji din NGE, la fel de nehotarati erau si astia.
Ai la dispozitie ditamai pushcoiul, sau ce darku era aia, ai un costum care iti mareste puterea fizica de cateva ori, ai posibilitate sa faci praf inamicul si tu tot stai si nu faci nimic, in timp ce prietenul tau e macelarit de un extraterestru verde t?mp.
Seria asta mi s-a parut una dintre cele mai plictisitoare si tampite serii pe care le-am vazut.

Atata m-a enervat ca la fiecare personaj le trebe` al dreq de mult pana fac ceva, atataaaaaaa stau sa se gandeasca.

Si serios eu am vazut mai multa drama si slice of life in NGE decat in Gantz. Nu vreau sa intelegi ca vroiam sa devina eroi si sa bata tot. Nu. Ideea e absolut geniala, dar (si aici e un foarte mare DAR) modul in care ne este expusa este de cea mai jalnica calitate. Puteau sa moara dupa mine, dar puteau sa o faca in 10 episoade nu in 26.
Si eu, ca si voi, vreau sa vad o mai multa dezvoltare a personajelor mai ales ca sunt atat de numeroase. Dar este o anumita limita care nu trebuie intrecuta la "introspectie in eul personajului". Daca e prea multa se ajunge la cazul de fata. Si din cat se vede din putinele citate pe care le-am dat este un numitor comun in cazul majoritatii celor care au postat aici.
Iar, daca ai prea putina ("introspectie in eul personajului") ai o serie cu 26 de episoade de actiune, SF decent, echhi si hentai. Poate producatorii niponi au incercat sa ajunga la un echilibru dar undeva pe drum sau pierdut in introspectie si a aparut "lucrul" asta numit Gantz.
Si uite un argument valabil din partea lui Trickster. Instinctul de supravietuire e mult mai puternic decat constiinta. S-ar putea aduce ca un contraargument faptul ca au existat martiri si ca in razboaie au existat eroi, chiar comapanii intregi de oameni care s-au pus in "bataia pustii". De acord, dar ei au facut-o pentru "patrie si popor". Pentru ca ei stiau ca lupta pentru o lume mai buna ... For The Greater Good (scuze, prea mult Warhammer). In schimb in serie ei se lupta pentru puncte, ei se lupta FOR THE WIN!

Si asta e o problema. Scarz tu spui ca nu ai putea sa indrepti o arma spre cineva. Ei se luptau cu extraterestrii.
