ten reasons why this show pissed me off.

1. The main characters are indecisive to the point of painfull. There are several times when they just stand there while their friends are being beaten to a pulp and agonize whether or not they should help.
2. Everybody has guns and some special equipment, yet they still agonize over whether or not to kill the alien freaks that just splattered one of their friends.
3. The main character is an asshole. In the show, there is a girl, she's basically homeless due to a plot device; first it takes him for fucking EVER to figure out that a girl that's been sleeping in front of his door waiting for him to get home wasn't there because she wanted a glass of water.
3.5 Once he does find out, all he can do is think about getting laid. (while she's all crying over her plight by the way)
3.7 He never actually gets laid, he just leers at her boobs a lot.
4. In the middle of a fight to the death (while agonizing over whether or not to shoot) characters will have these long ass periods of 'frozen with fear' while everyone around them is getting kacked.
5. The secondary characters are either assholes, or total pussies. (example: when a girl gets dragged out of the room to be very obviously raped since you can hear her protesting through the door NO one goes to help until we've had a good solid round of self doubt.)
6 there are several episodes where I was just yelling, "goddam, fucking shoot, fuuuck, you guys are such pussies" at the screen.
7. Apparently being surrounded by aliens, having most of your group including an old grandmother and her grandchild get kacked STILL isn't enough to convince you that firearms, NOT hand to hand combat is the way to go.)
8 There is a news story going on about the dissapearance of the main characters that continues throughout the entire show. The newscaster takes lots of time to show a mashed umbrella, and a nudie magazine that was left behind. This is despite the fact that it's the main characters who are supposedly dead (this isn't a spoiler), but have actually returned to school.
9. The school, is filled with bullies that prey on the weak and extract teeth when they don't bring enough lunch money. No one seems to actually care about this, and the main chracter doesn't help anyone (of course!) until he is the one targeted. Naturally he still agonizes about fighing back while he's getting smacked around. Only the thoughts of his friends very large boobies are enough to make him fight back.
10 in the first season, there are only a couple of actual action peices. Most of which you see in the opening credits.
11. Actually, if you've seen the opening credits, that is the whole season without the whining, agonizing and bitching.
12. The 'hero' of the group is willing to help out obvious assholes, even just after they got done doing rock paper scisors on who gets to rape his girlfriend first. (they don't, she never actually gets raped.)
12.5 How goddam many times do we have to see people decide to rape this girl?
13 Ok, get with me here... you get zapped to a remote location, armed and equiped. Do you stand around yakking, or grab some hardware?
14 the "boss" (and he is reffered to as such) alien looks like an escapee from a fried chicken advertisement.
14.5 On second thought, maybe the 'boss' is able to get employment as a mascot for some sports team.
15 The main character is seemingly able to read peoples minds in the very beginning of the first episode, yet this never surfaces again. Presumably this is why when he want's to have sex with the girl who has no place to go, and is crying he doesn't 'get' that maybe it's not an ideal time.
15.5 If he was THAT mercenary, he would have just said 'put out or get out'. After all he goes to a school where bullies pull the teeth right out of junior right outside classes.
16 did I mention that in the middle of a combat situation, people are still yakking about helping each other out, making threats, and so forth?
17 The stuff that comes out of the armament 'device' could never actually fit inside of it. Explain that shit, someone?

Ma intrebam, daca e chiar asa de rau acest serial, ideea ar fi interesanta, adik poate duce la multa actiune, dar felul in care e realizat lasa de dorit...

Unul dintre cele mai bune anime-uri.. dupa parerea mea... in primul rand pentru ca totul e atat de real, personajele se comporta ca in viata. Contine observatii fine despre natura umana, despre cum se comporta oamenii atunci cand sunt pusi in situatii deosebite, cand sunt confruntati cu extremele. Este un anime despre supravietuire. Si despre ce inseamna sa fii om. Pentru ca eroii nostri care ezita sa traga sunt cat se poate de reali. Foarte multa lume, pusa in situatia respectiva nu ar putea sa apese pe tragaci. Pentru ca tine de natura umana (am vazut niste studii facute de niste sociologi, care spuneau, ca in caz de razboi, un procent foarte mic dintre soldati trag, in prima lupta. Cei care nu reusesc, mor. Cei care reusesc prima data, sunt supravietuitorii.) E drept, aici erau niste extraterestrii, in mod normal puteti zice ca e mai usor. Nu cred ca e cu mult mai usor, sunt niste fiinte, nu poti pur si simplu sa-i zbori capul. Cine zice ca poate, e copil teribilist... foarte putini dintre noi, am putea de fapt sa facem asta. De asta spuneam ca anime-ul e cat se poate de real.

S-a tot vorbit despre Kato. El e idealist, si el e real. E plin de bune intentii, dar din cauza lui mor oameni. Pentru ca ezita, pentru ca idealismul lui il face slab. Din cauza lui moare Nishi, care ar fi putut fi ajutat, si moare Kishimoto, care se sacrifica pentru ca el a ramas intepenit. Nu e un lider, n-a fost niciodata. Dar e un om bun...

Kei e sinucigasa, e normal sa se poarte asa cum se poata. S-a indragostit de Kato pentru ca a salvat-o... probabil s-ar fi indragostit de oricine ar fi facut asta. Pana la urma, iubirea ei a fost totusi reala, m-am intrebat o vreme daca chiar e reala.

Am si eu o varianta de final:

Dupa ce Gantz a trisat si a oprit counter-ul, ca sa moara Mika, Kurono e teleportat in statia de metrou.
Intai e observator, pentru ca se vede pe el, apoi i se da o a doua sansa. Interesant ca nu are pe umar pe homeless, pe umar o are pe Mika, pe Mika vrea s-o salveze. Eu am privit totul ca pe un joc nebun, nu stim cine sau ce e Gantz, cum functioneza sau de unde vine. Dar un lucru este sigur, Gantz creeaza un mediu cu propriile reguli. Se pare ca are voie sa modifice count down-ul dupa propria placere. Dar se pare ca exista si o cale prin care Gantz poate fi infrant. Eu cred ca Kurono l-a invins pe Gantz, totul a inceput in momentul in care Gantz l-a ales ca tinta. Acolo Gantz a riscat totul. Kurono putea fi o victima si ar fi murit ca si ceilalti. Sau putea sa invinga... asa cum, din punctul meu de vedere a facut-o. Cum a invins? Evoluand... de la pustiul de la inceput caruia nu-i pasa decat de el, tipul omului obisnuit, atat de real incat toti avem ceva din Kurono in noi, la cel de la sfarsit care a zis: Ne intoarcem toti acasa. Nemaipomenit a evoluat Kurono, e unul din personajele mele favorite. Cand s-a oprit si a zis Bang, atunci s-a schimbat totul. Pentru ca nu a acceptat sa moara, a zis ca nu va accepta sa moara. Nu a acceptat regulile lui Gantz. Atunci l-a infrant pe Gantz, care dupa aceea a si disparut. Asa vad eu sfarsitul... pentru mine e cumva optimist...

Scorpio:

Gantz dispare asta e un semn ca rolul lui s-a terminat, ma indoiesc ca asta s-a intamplat ca nu mai existau jucatori, asa cum au aparut atatia mai apareau si altii.

Poti s-o vezi in mai multe feluri: Ori Kurono a castigat si Gantz a disparut de tot; Ori jocul s-a terminat doar pentru Kurono pentru ca a invins si si-a recapatat viata. Sau poate tot grupul din care a facut parte a patit la fel, poate toti care erau in statia de metrou. Iar Gantz va juca in alta parte, cu alti jucatori. Ambele variante mi se par la fel de posibile...
