Walking around in Yokohama, Kenshin, Sanosuke, Kaoru and Yahiko see a confrontation between some drunken western sailors and a Japanese woman. An armed samurai steps in front to protect the woman and soon a small riot breaks out with the samurai winning. The woman is actually the sister of a person Kenshin had killed at the end of the last dynasty. The samurai who introduces himself as Takimi Shigure is her fiance and unknown to Kenshin, he is trying to start a new revolution to overthrow the Meiji government.
