M-am gandit ca poate intereseaza pe cineva rezumatul volumului I din maga.Diferente exista destule intre serie si manga, mai ales la personalitatea personajelor.

 Chapter 1 The Red Straw Hat (Makka Na Mugiwara Boushi)
Tankoubon
Volume 1, Chapter 1

First Appearance:
Kasuga Kyousuke
Ayukawa Madoka
Kasuga Manami
Kasuga Kurumi
Kasuga Takashi
Matsuoka-sensei
Komatsu Seiji
Hatta Kazuya
Hiyama Hikaru
As Kyousuke climbs a long flight of stairs in his new neighborhood (counting the steps along the way), he seea a red straw hat flying

through the air over his head. He catches the hat, and is surprised to hear someone say, "Nice catch!" He turns around and sees a beautiful

black-haired girl standing at the top of the stairs. It's her hat, and she's glad he caught it: Otherwise she'd have to climb down and back again -

and there's 99 steps. Wait a minute - Kyousuke counted 100 steps...

After a playful argument Kyousuke offers a compromise - 99.5 steps! The girl laughs and goes on her way. Kyousuke calls to her, telling her

she's forgotten her hat. She says to keep it - it looks good on him - and runs off. He decides he's going to like his new home.

When he gets home, Kyousuke is nearly flattened by a flying dresser. It's now revealed that Kyousuke, along with his twin sisters Manami and

Kurumi, are espers - possessing incredible powers. However, Kyousuke feels it's more of a curse, since short-sighted Kurumi (who was

moving the dresser with the Power) had forced them to have to move this time (they've had to move a total of seven times!) because she ran

the 100 meter dash in 3 seconds! Their widowed father, Takashi, remind his kids not to use the Power in public, or they might have to move yet

again.

The next day, Kyousuke starts at his new school, and is immediately befriended by class hentais (perverts) Komatsu and Hatta. They're ready

to give him info on all of the girls, including the delinquent Ayukawa Madoka, who's skipping class right now..Komatsu and Hatta quickly

discover, much to Kyousuke's chagrin, two new (and very cute) transfer students - Kurumi and Manami!

Later on, Kyousuke and Manami frantically search for a missing Kurumi, not knowing what trouble she'll get into - and she does find trouble, in

the form of two girls smoking behind the school. Just as the short-haired blonde girl gets ready to teach nosy Kurumi a lesson, Kyousuke and

Manami show up.

The brunette announces to her blonde friend, "Hikaru, we have more guests." Kyousuke is surprised to see that the brunette is the same girl he

met on the stairs yesterday! She recognizes him for a second, then acts as if she's never met him when the blonde asks her, "Ayukawa-san, is

he your friend?" Kyousuke realizes that she is Ayukawa Madoka, the delinquent Komatsu told him about. Kyousuke then decides that Madoka

shouldn't be smoking, and uses the Power to snuff out her cigarette, much to the surprise of Kurumi and Manami. He then tells Madoka that she

shouldn't be smoking - she won't have healthy babies if she smokes. She promptly rewards him with a slap that sends him reeling and chews

him out for having the nerve to lecture to her.

Later that evening, Kyuosuke wonders to himself if the girl he met today could be the same as the one he saw on the steps...
Chapter 2 The Shooting Blues (Shu--to Wa Buru)
Tankoubon
Volume 1, Chapter 2 The next morning, Takashi chastises Kyousuke for using the Power to put out Madoka's cigarette, but warns that if he

isn't careful, they might make the movers rich again. After an argument with Kurumi for telling on him, Kyousuke finds himself late for school.

As he approaches his classroom, he sees Madoka, and plans a wide berth around her. She then surprises him by telling him notto worry

about the teacher - he's always a minute late to class himself. Kyousuke reassesses his opinion of Madoka, and decides that she was

probably in a bad mood yesterday. Once they're in the classroom, however, she becomes aloof to him again. He wonders why she displays

such kimagure (capricious) behavior...

Later that day in gym class, the guys wait for their turn at the basketball court while Komatsu rates the girls during their balance beam class.

Gym Club star Sugimoto rates an 85 on the "Komatsu Scale" and earns a round of applause and cheers from the boys, but when Kyousuke

asks what Madoka, who's up next, would rate, Komatsu says that he doesn't rate delinquents. Madoka then delivers an Olympic-quality

performance, garnering raves and clapping of her own from Kyousuke - and only from Kyousuke, much to his embarrassment.

As Kyousuke plays basketball with his classmates, it's obvious to him that the reason he's doing so poorly has been his reliance on the

Power. When he gets the ball - and the chance to make the game-winning shot - he sees Madoka, and decides to try to make the shot on his

own, with no Power. He shoots...

Later on Kyousuke sits in the gym alone, wondering what Madoka thought of him as he shot that ball on his own - and missed. He thinks it would

have been so easy to have used the Power to make that shot. He then picks up the basketball next to him, and makes a full-court

Power-assisted shot into the basket - nothing but net.

He doesn't realize that this incredible shot had an unintended audience - Hikaru, who's sneaking a smoke in one of the gym's storerooms. She

is so impressed that she decides to make this incredible guy her boyfriend. (She also stops smoking right then and there.)
Chapter 3 The Lip Secret (Kuchibiru Shi-kuretto)
Tankoubon
Volume 1, Chapter 3

First Appearance:
Ootsuka-sensei
As the Kasuga clan watches TV, actress Hori Chiemi passionately kisses her costar. Thsi causes Kurumi to ask if what she's heard

is true - whether a kiss tastes like lemons. Takashi and Manami avoid answering the question, and when Kurumi spots Kyousuke, she tells him

not to worry - she knows that he doesn't know anything about kissing!

The next day, Kyousuke finds his male classmates lamenting Chiemi-san's kiss the night before. He gives up on them and turns his attention to

Madoka. He wonders if she's lonely, since she never seems to talk with anyone in class. He tries to break through her shell of indifference, and

as she confesses her love for him and leans over to kiss her - he wakes from his daydream to find he's kissed Komatsu! That kiss didn't taste

like a lemon - more like Komatsu's fried liver lunch...

Kyousuke heads off to find a water fountain, and as he rounds a corner he runs into something - something soft on his lips - a lot more pleasnt

than Komatsu, for sure. He looks to see who it is - it's Hikaru! She's mad at first, but when she realizes who it is she's delighted. That feeling lasts

only for a moment, because Ootsuka-sensei, the PE coach, sees them and demands to know what's going on. Hikaru takes this opportunity to

scurry off, saying goodbye to her newfound "Darling"...

After school, Kyousuke finds himself in the faculty room, answering a lot of questions about his encounter with Hikaru. Matsuoka-sensei

decides it's all a misunderstanding, but Ootsuka-sensei has decided that Kyousuke's falling into the wrong crowd, starting with Hikaru.

Kyouske then demands to know why he thinks she's a bad kid, and when Ootsuka-sensei can't answer to his satisfaction, Kyousuke lets him

have it. He then spots Madoka, who has heard the entire exchange and is somewhat impressed with his stern defense of her friend.

When Kyousuke goes to get his schoolbag, he finds Madoka with it. She tells him that she's watching it - seems there might be delinquents at

this school!

They share a good laugh, but then Madoka then surprises him by asking if he's ever really kissed somebody before. He thinks back to the

kisses with Komatsu, Hikaru, and dream Madoka, and say that he only remembers the kiss in his dream. Madoka then guesses that he means

Hori Chiemi. He agrees, but wonders to himself what a real kiss from Madoka would be like...
Chapter 4 Cheek Sorrow (Aishuu Chi--ku)
Tankoubon
Volume 1, Chapter 4 Komatsu asks Kyousuke to go with him to Moebius, a local disco, that night, but Kyousuke's shocked - after all, he says,

thay're still only in junior high, and not allowed to go to coffee shops, much less a disco. Komatsu tries to entice him with cheek time - slow

dancing, men and women hold close to each other - but Kyousuke continues to refuse.

His mood changes, however, when Komatsu mentions that Ayukawa goes there all the time. Now that's something different - cheek time with

Madoka! Komatsu even gives Kyousuke free Moebius tickets, but they're ladies' tickets, intended for Kurumi and Manami! Kyousuke starts to

refuse once again, but Komatsu reminds him that he promised him a favor when he lost the basketball game, and Kyousuke reluctantly agrees

to come.

On the way home, Kyousuke spots Madoka and Hikaru together, and hopes that Hikaru hasn't told Madoka about the kiss. He then notices

how cute Hikaru really is, but quickly thrusts that thought out of his head.

When he gets home, however, Kyousuke decides once again that his sisters are too young to go to a disco. However, Kurumi sees the disco

tickets and is thrilled, dancing and cheering that they're going to a disco! She then asks, "What's a disco?"

When Kyousuke and Manami tell her what's at a disco, Kurumi wants to go even more - especially when she hears there's food there!

Kyousuke lays down the law - no disco - but when he goes to take a nap, Kurumi grabs one of the tickets and sneaks out. Kyousuke and

Manami figure out what's going on and take off after her.

When they arrive at Moebius, they sneak past Komatsu - who's waiting outside - and go inside. They decide to split up and look for Kurumi, so

Kyousuke tells Manami that she can use the Power if she gets into trouble. She winks and flashes him a "V" sign, and heads off.

As Kyousuke looks for Kurumi, he bumps into someone - Hikaru. She's thrilled that her Darling comes to discos, even if he doesn't look the

type. He asks her if she's with someone, and she says yes - she's with Madoka. Hikaru asks him to dance, just as the music slows down and

cheek time starts! Kyousuke notices how nice Hikaru smells - kind of a sweet-and-sour smell - and begins to enjoy himself. It's also the

unfortunate instance in which Madoka finally sees Kyousuke - and he sees that she sees him - just as Hikaru snuggles up with him. Madoka

looks quite irritated at the two, and goes out on the dance floor with a sleazy guy who asked her to dance. Kyousuke wonders why she'd ever

dance with a guy like that, but then sees the reason dancing next to him.

Meanwhile, Manami has found Kurumi, and the two happily scarf down pizza, while Komatsu tries to explain to a policeman why he, a

junior-high student, is loitering around a disco.
Chapter 5 Lakeside Rhapsody (Reikusaido Rapusodei)
Tankoubon
Volume 1, Chapter 5 Madoka finishes her shower, and pulls out a cigarette. She stares at it, while she remembers what Kyousuke told her

about cigarettes could be harmful to her future children. She thinks that she's been told the same thing by other people, but she's never

listened - until now. She thinks, "Kasuga Kyousuke... wierd guy," then puts the cigarette away and gets ready to go to the park.

Kyousuke, meanwhile, gets ready to take a train to his date with Hikaru. (She asked him out at school earlier in the week, and he reluctantly

accepted.) His date is two hours from now, so he'll have some free time when he arrives at the train station where they're supposed to meet.

As he heads for the train, he spots Madoka getting on the train, and hurries to get there before the doors close. When the doors start to close,

he uses the Power to wedge a lady's purse between the doors, keeping them open long enough to get on the train.

As he stands near Madoka on the train, he can tell she's still mad about the Moebius incident. When he tries to make small talk about the good

weather, she says it's getting cloudy. Undaunted, he comments that one of the clouds looks like Kurumi, chasing after both a

hamburger-shaped cloud and an ice-cream-shaped cloud, but can't get either one. He asks Madoka what she calls that, and she replies, "A

person that goes after two rabbits won't even get one." This seems to warm up her attitude, replying that it's not just Kurumi, but all girls who are

food freaks! Kyousuke then spys a cloud that looks like Madoka, pursued by a cloud shaped like... him.

They arrive at the park, and Kyousuke follows Madoka off the train. He notices all the attention Madoka gets from the men in the park, and

agrees that she definitely doesn't look like a junior-high student. Madoka suggests they go for a boat ride, and once out on the water, she

correctly guesses that the nervous Kyousuke can't swim. Their conversation is interrupted when a small boy falls in the water and struggles to

stay afloat. Madoka begins to go after the boy, but Kyousuke tells her that he can swim, and rescues the boy.

After returning the boy to his mother, an impressed Madoka lends her jacket to Kyousuke, and they go to a nearby coffeshop. As Kyousuke

drinks his coffee, he notices Madoka staring at him. When he asks if there's something on his face, she merrily replies, "Plankton," and they

share a laugh. Kyousuke comments that this feels like a date... oh, no! He's completely forgotten about his date with Hikaru! And he blurted that

fact out right in front of Madoka, too... She gets up to leave, and a sputtering Kyousuke asks about her jacket - she icily tells him to wash it

before he brings it back. He's blown it, big time.

Kyousuke rushes to the place where he was supposed to meet Hikaru, and sees Kyousuke no baka!! (Kyousuke's a jerk!) scrawled on the

public message board. He then sneezes - he's caught a cold - and remembers the adage about chasing two rabbits, and not catching either

one...
Chapter 6 A Distant Love (Koi No Disutansu)
Tankoubon
Volume 1, Chapter 6 As they sit in a cafe, Madoka notices that Hikaru is a bit depressed. She asks if a date of hers didn't show up. Hikaru is

amazed that Madoka could know that. Of course, a guilty-feeling Madoka knows why she knew that... because she was with that date herself.

Thinking about it makes Madoka angrier at Kyousuke for ditching Hikaru, but Hikaru blissfully says she feels better now - she figures he must

have a good reason for not showing up.

Hikaru asks Madoka if she wants to know who it is, and when she says yes, Hikaru says it's "Kasuga Kyousuke-sama!" After a bit of a sad look

from Madoka, she promises Hikaru that she'll support her in her relationship with him.

Later at school, Kyousuke asks Madoka to speak with him. She takes him up to the roof (where he expects to be gutted by Madoka with a

five-inch knife for humiliating Hikaru), where he apologizes to her for treating Hikaru so badly. She asks him if he's apologized to Hikaru, and

he says that he plans to do so. Madoka says that she considers Hikaru to be like a sister, so she wants people to treat her properly.

Kyousuke then tries to apologize to Madoka, but she angrily refuses his apology. Kyousuke is confused and a little upset, but he thinks that it's

no great loss if she refused his apology - after all, it's not like she's his girlfriend or anything...

When Kyousuke sees Hikaru again, he tells her that he had to help his father with work. Hikaru promptly forgives him and apologizes for the

message she wrote on the board. She asks him if they can go somewhere after school to talk, and he agrees. Meanwhile, an unhappy

Madoka watches sits in a movie theater while two creeps decide how to approach her.

At a coffeeshop, Hikaru asks Kyousuke what he thinks of Madoka. He says that she's okay, which makes Hikaru ecstatic. Kyousuke wonders,

though, if Madoka's always been as tough as she seems now. Hikaru then pulls out a pendant from around her neck and tells him its story:

Once a bully stole the pendant from 6-year-old Hikaru, and didn't return it even after she and 8-year-old Madoka confronted the bully's mother

about it. Then Madoka stood outside the bully's window - all night - watching him. The next day he returned the pendant and apologized.

Kyousuke smiled, and couldn't help but admire Madoka's spirit.

Back at the theater, the creeps start to bother Madoka, but she smacks them and leaves the theater. As she walks down the street, Kyousuke

spots her and sees the creeps coming after her. He uses the Power to cause two paint cans to upend and drop on the creeps.

Kyousuke asks Madoka if she's okay, but she shrugs off any threat the creeps might have been. She then turns the tables and asks if he's

apologized to Hikaru. He tells her yes, and that the two of them are going to a Live House together. Kyousuke asks Madoka if she's ever been

to one, and she responds by giving him a hearty whack on the back and telling him to "Have fun!"

As she leaves, Kyousuke wonders to himself if Madoka might just be a bit jealous of Hikaru...
Chapter 7 Dangerous Rumors (Kiken Na Uwasa)
Tankoubon
Volume 1, Chapter 7 Hikaru comes over to the Kasuga apartment to visit. When she and Kyousuke go into his bedroom, Kurumi and Manami

comment on how Hikaru doesn't seem as scary as she did behind the school when they first met.

Kyousuke finds Kurumi listening at the door and runs her off, just as Manami brings in a tray of snacks. She congratulates her Oniichan (big

brother) on his recent progress with the opposite sex, much to his embarrassment. Hikaru, however, likes the attention - she's an only child.

Kyousuke and Hikaru talk and listen to music that evening, and as they chat, Kyousuke begins to notice Hikaru is a very attractive girl. She

leaves later that evening.

The next day in school, the girls in the twins' class are talking about a dream a girl had - she dreamed she had been in a guy's bed. Kurumi

says that that's nothing - that her brother had a girl in his bed last night - and it was Hikaru! Rumors start flying, and soon everybody in school

thinks Kyousuke and Hikaru did "C" (had sex). When this gets back to Kyousuke, he loudly denies sleeping with Hikaru - loud enough for a

peeved Madoka to hear. After she storms out, Komatsu and Hatta talk about Kyousuke's "delinquent wife", then even mention that they've

heard rumors that even Madoka had slept with some middle-aged man the previous Saturday.

When Hikaru shows up, Kyousuke takes her outside to talk. He's furious about the rumor, but she's not - it shows that they're a recognized

couple. When she sees that he's really upset about the whole thing, she asks if he likes her. He says yes, but when she hugs him, he doesn't

feel excited - in fact, all he can do is think about the rumors about Madoka. In fact, he passes out at that thought.

Kyousuke is carried to the health room, and as he is unconscious, he dreams about an encounter between Madoka and some faceless man.

As he wakes up, screaming (in his mind, not out loud), "Ayukawa! Don't do it!", he grabs and hugs Hikaru, who's sitting beside the bed, just as

Madoka comes into the health room. Madoka shouts, "Excuse me!" and leaves school. Hikaru, however is overjoyed at being hugged so

passionately by her Darling.

As Kyousuke leaves school that day, Komatsu continues to razz him about his "wife". Manami shows up and explains that all Hikaru did was

use the bed as a place to sit, and that nothing untoward happened.

Later that evening, Kyousuke calls Madoka, in hopes of clearing up the misunderstanding. At first she'll have none of that, but once he explains

the situation she calms down. Then he asks her... had she been out recently? Madoka smiles and says yes, she had gone out the previous

Saturday - with her father.

They settle into a friendly conversation, with Kyousuke expressing relief that all of the rumors had proved untrue.
Chapter 8 The Secret Part-Time Job (Himitsu No Arubaito)
Tankoubon
Volume 1, Chapter 8

First Appearance:
Master of Abcb
"Golden Week", the weeklong spring vacation, is here, but Kyousuke isn't too happy about it. He told Hikaru that he was offered a

chance to go to Hokkaido with his family, but he turned it down, saying that he wanted to rest during his time off. Hikaru invites him to go with her

to Karuizawa, but he wisely decides he'd rather not risk anything bad happeinig between them while they're off somewhere. They spot

Madoka, who seems to be leaving early, but she tells them there's "nothing special" going on. Kyousuke, of course, wonders if that's really

true. At home, Kyousuke is bored stiff, and he thinks about the "whole story" concerning the Hokkaido trip: Takashi had only been able to get

three tickets, so he asked Kyousuke to give up his ticket so both sisters could go.

However, hunger soon overtakes Kyousuke's boredom, and he heads out in search of someplace to eat. He comes across a new restaurant -

it's called "something-bcb" - and decides to try it out.As he sits down at a table, the waitress comes up and - it's Madoka! Both are very

surprised to see each other. Madoka tells him that she's working there part-time during the holiday - she knows the owner - but he needs to

keep the job a secret, since school doesn't allow students to work.

After conferring with Madoka, the Master of the restaurant asks Kyousuke if he wants to work during the holiday. And since Madoka wants hime

to work, too... he agrees, and is put to work immediately. After an encounter in the changing room, where Madoka accidently walks in on a

shirtless Kyousuke and both are embarrassed, things go fairly well all week.

At the end of the week, Kyousuke, Madoka, and Master celebrate with a toast. Master thanks Kyousuke for helping out, and Kyousuke says it

was fun. Master asks if that's because Madoka was there with him. Madoka then suggests that Master needs to get home to his wife, and he

takes the hint.

Madoka teases Kyousuke about only drinking juice while she had a drink with alcohol in it. She asks, teasingly, if he's really a serious boy. He

denies it, and she agrees because, after all, he went boat-riding with her when he already had a date with Hikaru. She asks what that's called -

and then she answers - sukekomashi (a flirt).

She then asks if he really likes Hikaru, and apologizes when she sees his shocked reaction to the question. He then smiles and tells her that

he's glad to be there, because she seems to be enjoying herself.

Kyousuke then says it's time for them to go home, but they discover that they've missed the last bus. Madoka then asks Kyousuke if she can

come and stay the night at his house - and tells him that she won't tell Hikaru! She then falls asleep against his chest, just as Hikaru rides by

with her parents. They're back from vacation, and Hikaru asks how work had gone fot them that week. Kyousuke is surprised that she knew

about the job, but Hikaru explained thatMadoka had told her over the phone about the two of them working together. Hikaru then offers to take

Madoka home.

As the Hiyamas and a sleeping Madoka drive off, Kyousuke begins to wonder about Madoka's request - had it been just because of the

alcohol, or was there something more?
Chapter 9 The First Test (Fa--suto Tesuto)
Tankoubon
Volume 2, Chapter 1 As time for exams comes closer, Hikaru asks Kyousuke to help her study for her tests. He's a bit apprehensive, because

he doesn't want Madoka to find out about the two of them spending so much time together. But being the pushover that he is, he agrees and

Hikaru is ecstatic, much to the annoyance of fellow library patrons. She asks him not to tell Madoka atout the tutoring, since she's embarrassed

that she needs help.

When Kyousuke drops by Abcb, he sees Madoka studying. He's surprised that she'd be studying (after all, he still thinks of her as somewhat

of a delinquent), but she asks him why he's goofing off. Of course, when she starts showing him the types of problems he'll see on the exams,

he realizes that he needs help. Madoka realizes this, too, and offers to help him study for his tests. She also mentions that she usually helps

Hikaru in her studies, but that Hikaru had told her that she had given up on the next test. Kyousuke realizes he's been tricked by Hikaru, but if he

can pull this off, he gets to be with both of them and gets his studying done, too...

The next day after his study session with Hikaru, Kyousuke uses the Power to teleport to Abcb, but is momentarily surprised when he lands

next to the Colonel Sanders dummy, in front of the Mississippi (^_^) Fried Chicken. He gets to Abcb and begins to study with Madoka.

This back-and-forth routine goes on for several days, and all the teleporting begins to take its toll on Kyousuke - he falls asleep while studying

with Madoka. After she gets him some coffee, he begins to notice that Madoka's perfume smells really good - a lot different than Hikaru, much

more alluring. He gets mad at himself for thinking along these lines, but when he tells himself (out loud) "At a time like this!", he surprises

Madoka with the outburst. He then says to himself that Ayukawa's fragrance should be a criminal offense...

At the end of Hikaru's final study session, she suggests that she and Kyousuke go to Abcb to celebrate. This causes Kyousuke to panic - what

if Ayukawa finds out about his tutoring Hikaru? He begs off, and she says she'll go by herself - even worse! Kyousuke then tries to keep Hikaru

from leaving the library by locking the door, but Matsuoka-sensei comes by and unlocks the door and they get out.

On to Plan B... Kyousuke causes a train crossing signal to go off and the gate to come down, but when there's no train, and Hikaru sees

another crossing down the tracks where the gate is up, he clears the signal and they're on their way.

They finally make it to Abcb, where Madoka is happy to see Hikaru, but obviously irritated that Kyousuke is with her. When Madoka asks

Hikaru if it was okay that she didn't help her to study, Kyousuke panics, and asks Madoka rather abruptly for a menu.

When she returns and gives Kyousuke the menu, he's obviously relieved at what he sees, and even more relieved when Madoka tells Hikaru

that she's too busy to talk and they'll have to talk later. He's grateful to her, but he's also a bit ashamed of himself for the situation he's in.

Later on at home, Kyousuke has fallen asleep as he studied, but we get a chance to see what was written in that menu:

You might look bad as a man if Hikaru finds out I've been coaching you, so I'll keep that a secret. I've written down in this note the points we

were going to cover today. This is the last study session.

Good luck.
From Madoka-sensei...

Of course, divine retribution catches up with Kasuga-kun: his score ranks third - from the bottom, just above Komatsu and Hatta!
Chapter 10 Shopping Boogie! (Shoppingu Bugi!)
Tankoubon
Volume 2, Chapter 2 As Madoka walks through a park, a child's ball comes to rest at her feet. She tosses the ball back to the young boy who

threw it, and as she waves back at him she realizes something - she 's been acting cheerful lately, for a change.

She meets Kyousuke, who's dressed up in a nice shirt and tie, sweater vest and a sport coat. Madoka expresses surprise at his flashy outfit,

but says it's okay. Kyousuke then thinks back to the previous day's events leading up to now...

Master tells Kyousuke that he plans to send Madoka on a shopping trip for some things for the restaurant, and that he knows that Madoka-kun

would really appreciate his helping her with the shopping (much to Madoka's consternation).

As Madoka picks out cooking utensils for Abcb, Kyousuke can't help but notice that seems much more mature than the average junior-high girl.

The salesclerk also notices this, and compliments Kyousuke for helping out his oneesan (older sister) with her shopping! Dropping his

packages, Madoka sternly chides her "Kyousuke-chan", resulting in utter humiliation for him.

Later on, Madoka tries to make amends by offering to treat him to coffee. As they enjoy their break, two creeps try to pick Madoka up, brushing

off Kyousuke's meager attempt at defense. She, however, maintains her cool throughout and leaves the creeps, and Kyousuke, and the bill,

behind. He catches up with her just as she gets onto the elevator.

In the elevator, Madoka is obviously mad, but before Kyousuke can say anything, something goes wrong with the elevator - it stops, and

smoke starts to come in through the doors. He grabs the phone in the elevator, but is cut off when the person on the other end yells that the fire

is out there, too. Both he and Madoka start to worry then, but Kyousuke realizes that he could get them out - with the Power. Unfortunately, that

would also mean he'd probably have to move again... As he's thinking about this, Madoka tells him that she's sorry - that she doesn't think of

him as a kid brother. Kyousuke decides to get them out with the Power, but before he can tell Madoka about it, his Power-assisted ears hear

the rescuers outside the door. The smoke stops, and they are rescued. It turns out that the fire was in the store's restaurant, and was no danger

to them.

However, Kyousuke's brand of mixed fortune rears its ugly head once again, as Madoka accuses him of having known all along that there was

no danger, and walks out angrily, with a sputtering Kyousuke not far behind. Unfortunately for him, he dosen't see the small smile on Madoka's

face as she walks away.
Chapter 11 The Suspicious Ring (Giwaku No Yubiwa)
Tankoubon
Volume 2, Chapter 3 Kyousuke is worried - Madoka isn't in school. In fact, she hasn't been there for three days, and even Hikaru doesn't know

where she is. Master tells him that she asked for some time off, and he then proceeds to tease Kyousuke for worrying so much about her!

The next day, Madoka shows up at school, where she and Kyousuke have a friendly reunion. Madoka even cleans up a toothpaste stain on

Kyousuke's shirt - she's being especially nice today, he thinks.

At home, Kurumi acts unusually nice to her oniisama ("big brother", said very respectfully). She's being so nice because her dad bought her a

dress, and she's in a good mood. Kyousuke remarks to Manami that she'd always be in a good mood if she got a boyfriend. Of course, that

makes Kyousuke wonder - is Madoka so happy today because something good happened to her? Manami adds that sometimes girls act

happy all the time in order to hide the fact that they've found someone they like...

The next day, after class, Madoka notices that Kyousuke isn't as cheerful as normal. She invites him to Abcb, where she treats him to pizza. As

they eat, he notices a ring on her left ring finger, and wonders if this means that she's... Before he can ask, however, Master calls her over to the

phone - it seems there's a man on the phone for her - and Kyousuke spills his coffee. As Master replaces the cup, Kyousuke hears Madoka

arranging for the ceremony - over the summer - and as she says goodbye, she asks the man to say hello to his parents for her! Oops - there

goes the coffee again...

As Madoka pours him another cup, she says that when women get married, they get used to doing this sort of thing. This is all Kyousuke can

take - he abruptly excuses himself and leaves. When he leaves, Madoka asks if she's done something wrong. Master tells her that she's a

little young, but she should do what makes her happy. He also remarks that whenever somebody's upset, they usually go home. Madoka

asks him what in the world he's talking about...

Manami brings Kyousuke his dinner in his room, but he's not paying attention. She joins him out on the balcony and asks him what's wrong. He

tells her that he's lost his confidence lately. Manami tells him that the oniichan she knows always sets a goal, and then does his best to achieve

it. She then flashes a megawatt smile at him and leaves. Kyousuke then decides to do whatever it takes to change the situation.

As he leaves his apartment, he runs into Madoka - she's brought him his bookbag. She tells the scatterbrain that this is the second time she's

gotten his bag for him. They go to the rooftop, where Kyousuke is determined to find out about the marriage. He asks her about the phone call

she got today, and she says that it's so embarrassing that he'd have to call her about that...

Kyousuke can't stand it! He tells her that it's too soon for that sort of thing, but Madoka disagrees. After all, she is 27. Huh? Madoka then tells the

whole story - that she was acting as an intermediary with a marriage mediator on behalf of her sister, who's too shy to do it herself! The guy who

called was the one interested in her sister. But, wait, Kyousuke's still confused - what about the ring? It turns out that Madoka bought that with her

Abcb pay, but she can't get it off. She asks Kyousuke to help her get it off, and he does manage to get it off, but it slips out of his hand and goes

sailing off of the roof.

As the ring flies off, Kyousuke wonders - if Madoka ever does get married, will he be there?

Volume 2, Chapter 4 Kyousuke admires the posters in Komatsu's bedroom, especially the wall-sized one of Hori Chiemi. Komatsu comments

that Kyousuke dosn't seem too interested in "this sort of thing", and asks if that's healthy for someone his age. Of course Komatsu remembers

that Kyousuke already has someone - but what does he see in that delinquent, anyway? Kyousuke says that she's not that bad - but Komatsu

continues to have his doubts: after all, she only a first-year junior high student! Kyousuke realizes the "delinquent" that he and Komatsu are

talking about are not the same person... Komatsu does warn Kasuga-kun that he needs to keep Hikaru away from that Ayukawa girl - she's a

bad influence, especially if you consider the rumors that she once was... even if she's been unusually good lately.

As he heads home, Kyousuke agrees that Madoka has been nicer lately, but he wonders what she was like before he met her. And why did

Madoka, and not Hikaru, come to mind when Komatsu asked who he liked, anyway? A voice brings him back to reality - it's Madoka. She tells

him she's got the evening off, so they can go and do something. And it's a good thing that she came along, too, she teases - a "kid" like him

could get into trouble in this neighborhood! Kyousuke finally notices his surroundings - it's the nightspot part of town.

As they wander, Kyousuke recognizes one place. It's Moebius, the disco where... It's time to dance: Madoka drags Kyousuke toward the

entrance, as two tough girls watch them go by. They pick this inopportune time to razz the couple in front of them, until they see (to their horror)

that the girl is Madoka! They regain some of their composure, and when they discover that Madoka isn't going to take their heads off, they start

mouthing off about her being famous for not being with one particular guy, and how young the kid she's with is. Kyousuke gets mad, of course,

and then the girls start to warn him about how bad Madoka was in the past, and that he'd better be careful. Madoka takes this opportunity to

whisk Kyousuke off. As they walk down the street, Kyousuke wants to know why she didn't defend herself. She says that he had defended her

enough that night, but he's still a bit peeved. So, Madoka says, there's only one thing to do...

They go down a set of outer stairs to a cafe, where the waitress greets Madoka and asks where she's been. She tells her she's been working

at Abcb. Aha, the competition, the waitress says. As they start their drinks, Kyousuke is surprised that his drink has alcohol in it, but Madoka

tells him it's only a little bit...

Later that night, a thoroughly sloshed Kyousuke asks for his sixth drink. Madoka is worried about him, but all he notices are the two images of

Madoka - the wonderful Ayukawa sisters, just like his Kurumi and Manami! Madoka decides it's time for Kasuga-kun to go home.

As Madoka helps a staggering Kyousuke home, he tells her that those girls they met earlier really made him mad. She tells him to forget about

them, but he then say he hates delinquents most of all. Madoka then say that he must not like her, because from his viewpoint, she's a

delinquent, too. He then tells her that she's wrong, that she's different from them. Kyousuke then leans in for a kiss - SLAP!

Kyousuke wakes up the next morning to find his sisters staring at him. He's in his bed, and he's got a nasty hangover, which he discovers when

he tries to get up. As his sisters berate him for coming home drunk, he remembers what happened between him and Madoka the previous

night - the attempted kiss, and the slap.

Oh, no, he thinks - is she mad at me?
Chapter 13 The Incoherent Feeling! (Chiguhagu Fi--ringu!)
Tankoubon
Volume 2, Chapter 5 Kyousuke slinks into class the next morning, momentarily startled by Matsuoka-sensei. When he sees Madoka, he tries

to be friendly, but she'll have none of that. She gives him an icy glare, then pointedly ignores him. Kyousuke tries to apologize after school, but

she won't even speak to him.

Later at Abcb, Hikaru notices that Madoka mistakenly served her coffee instead of iced tea. Madoka apologizes and starts to remake the

order, and Hikaru comments on how it's strange for Madoka to make such a mistake. As Madoka thinks over the previous night's events, she

starts to get mad again - how dare he try to take advantage of her like that! She is woken out of her thoughts by Master's observation that

Kasuga-kun hasn't shown up today. Madoka then loudly thunks Hikaru's iced tea on the counter, much to the surprise of Hikaru and Master.

As they close for the night, Master comments to Madoka that young people are so full of energy, so hotheaded sometimes - and they're easily

sidetracked in that state. Madoka smiles - she's taken the hint.

The next day, Madoka goes over to Kyousuke to talk to him, but Komatsu grabs him and drags him off to buy today's illusive katsu-sand. An

irritated Madoka decides to spend her lunch with Hikaru. Meanwhile, after Kyousuke manages to get two katsu-sands, Hikaru catches him in

her famous NeckTackle ™, and forciblyinvites him to share her bento (box lunch) with her up on the school's roof.

As they eat on the roof, Hikaru tells Kyousuke that Madoka seems to not be acting like her normal self - she's absent-minded, and she won't

discuss why, even with her! Kyousuke knows why she's acting like that. Meanwhile, a classmate tells Madoka that Hikaru went to eat up on the

roof.

Madoka arrives at the doorway onto the roof just in time to see Kyousuke being hand-fed by Hikaru, which sends her back downstairs.

Kyousuke saw her leave, so he distracts Hikaru and takes off after Madoka. He can't catch her on the stairs, so he teleports in front of her and

finally stops her as she comes down the steps. He begs Madoka to listen, and tells her that he did the things he did that night because of the

alcohol. She asks him, in disgust, if he'd do that sort of thing just from alcohol, and turns to leave. He then tells her that the only person he'd do

ever that sort of thing with, alcohol or not, would be her.

Madoka asks if he meant that, and he say yes, he meant it. She smiles, and then says that she's hungry. Kyousuke offers her one of his

katsu-sands, which she happily accepts.
Chapter 14 The Two Snapshots (Nimai No Sunappu)
Tankoubon
Volume 2, Chapter 6 Kasuga Takashi is roped into a photography assignment, but it's a model photography job, which he normally doesn't

do. As he walks down the street, he wonders who the model will be. Of course, being a Kasuga male, he manages to plow right into Hikaru!

She sees that he's a photographer, and remarks that she once modeled children's clothes for a department store. It would seem Takashi has

found his model...

At home, Takashi asks Kyousuke if he's free to work with him on a photo shoot next Sunday, and he agrees.

Later on, Kyousuke and Madoka listen as Hikaru waxes eloquent about her "discovery" by a local photographer. While she sees only fame

and fortune in her modeling future, her friends are a bit worried - what if this man isn't what he seems? Hikaru agrees and asks her Sempai

(upperclassman schoolmate - in this case, Kyousuke) to accompany her to the session. Kyousuke says that he can't - he has to work with his

dad that day, so Madoka volunteers to go along with Hikaru.

That Sunday, it's a big surprise to all when Takashi, Kyousuke, Hikaru, and Madoka end up at the train station together. It's a shock to

Kyousuke, since his father supposedly only shoots landscapes, and to Hikaru and Madoka, since they now know the potentially perverted

photographer is Kyousuke's dad! After everything is sorted out, they get on the train and head to the beach.

During Hikaru's photo shoot, Takashi tells Kyousuke (with Madoka within earshot) that he's pretty sharp to have someone like Hikaru as a

girlfriend. Kyousuke hotly denies anything like that, and when Madoka loudly says that since she's not needed she'll be going home, Takashi

finally starts to understand the situation. He casually asks Kyousuke if Madoka might be interested in modeling - and he'd better ask her fast,

before she really leaves! A grateful Kyousuke takes off after Madoka.

Kyousuke finally catches up with Madoka, after Power-convincing a crossing signal to display "Don't Walk" for her. She turns down the offer -

after all, she says, Hikaru is the model. Kyousuke is adamant: he wants her to model - he knows his father can take good pictures with her - and

he's leaving if she doesn't come back with him. She grabs his wrist, telling him he's like a spoiled child - with a little irritation in her voice, but

happiness in her eyes - and drags the joyous Kyousuke back with her to the beach!

Later that evening, Kyousuke looks over his father's pictures. Takashi comments that Madoka has a mysterious charm - her expressions

change like a cat's eye. He then asks Kyousuke to ask herto pose for him again - in the nude! Kyousuke tells him absolutely not, and his dad

tells him he was only joking. Kyousuke relaxes a bit, then notices another picture. Takashi tells him that's a freebie - it's not for the shoot. It's a

picture of Kyousuke and Madoka as she leads him back to the beach, with both looking at each other and smiling. Takashi remarks that the

picture reminds him of himself and Kyousuke's mother when they were young.

Of course, another picture reminds him of the same thing. It's a picture of Hikaru leaping up and hugging Kyousuke... Takashi then tells his son

that he's doubly blessed, and Kurumi and Manami agree, but Kyousuke can't help but wonder - which girl did his mom really resemble?
Chapter 15 Jealousy Rain (Jerashi-- Rein)
Tankoubon
Volume 2, Chapter 7

First Appearance:
Hino Yuusaku
As Kyousuke and Hikaru leave Abcb one night, Kyousuke can't help but feel he's being watched. He turns and sees a guy following

them, but when Hikaru looks back he disappears.

The next day, Kyousuke is caught under an awning without his umbrella during a rainstorm. After a mild chastisement from Madoka, she offers

to share hers. As they walk down the street, they hear Hikaru yell "Sempai!" and so they separate, causing Kyousuke to get drenched. As

Kyousuke talks to Hikaru, he sees the same guy, staring at him from a second-story window. Hikaru say she still has business in school and

gives her umbrella to Kyousuke. As she runs away, Kyousuke notices that the guy is still staring, but when Madoka turns and sees him, he

backs away from the window. She recognizes him as Hino Yuusaku, a childhood acquaintance the same age as Hikaru. The three of them

were friends when they were little - they even took a bath together, to Kyousuke's horror. Kyousuke decides that it might be Madoka that

Yuusaku is after.

The next day, Yuusaku comes to Kyousuke's class and tells him to tell Madoka that Hino wants to see her. He wants to ask her something in

private, so the two of them go to the roof. Kyousuke sees them talking and laughing together up on the roof, and he concludes that since they

are old childhood friends, and since he wants something from her, that what he must want is her!

When Yuusaku leaves the roof and heads downstairs, Kyousuke decides to spook him by rattling some buckets with the Power. When

Yuu-kun hears Kyousuke laughing at him, he decides to show Kasuga that he's no pushover. He singlehandedly splinters a door, and

Kyousuke learns that Yuusaku knows karate - well enough to take care of the likes of him! As Yuusaku leaves, he tells Kyousuke that he will

take her back from him...

It's then that Madoka appears and tells Kyousuke that Yuusaku is in love - with Hikaru - and that he's been in love with her since childhood.

Yuusaku had asked Madoka what Kyousuke's relationship with Hikaru was like. Madoka pointedly tells Kyousuke that she isn't sure what his

position on Hikaru really is... Kyousuke lets it slip to Madoka that he's glad that Yuusaku isn't interested in her, which obviously pleases

Madoka.

Still, Kyousuke can't help but wonder if Hikaru knows about Yuusaku's feelings...
